My cat was very ill just before Christmas. The vets - and all the support staff - were magnificent in looking after her. They were kind, efficient, considerate and thoughtful. They could not do enough for her - or for me. She has now made a full recovery and I am so grateful. She would have died without the tremendous care of all of the staff from the Balby Veterinary Centre. Every time I go there with my cats, they are absolutely tremendous. I cannot thank them enough. They were excellent again yesterday: they are always so kind, knowledgeable and helpful. My cats are very fortunate creatures.

I’ve honestly never felt so frustrated and let down by a veterinary practice in my life. Over a long period of time, I brought my dog in again and again with ongoing health issues, trusting that they would be able to properly diagnose and treat the problem. Instead, I was met with repeated guesswork, no clear answers, and absolutely no resolution. What makes this worse is the amount of money, time, and emotional energy that was wasted in the process. Appointment after appointment, test after test — all leading nowhere. It felt like I was just being pushed through a system rather than actually cared for. As a pet owner, you rely on professionals to guide you, but I left feeling more confused and concerned each time. The staff were also consistently rude and dismissive. Basic questions were brushed off, and there was very little empathy shown, which is the last thing you need when you’re worried about your pet’s wellbeing. Communication was poor, and I often felt like I wasn’t being listened to at all. As for the vet, I have serious concerns about their ability to provide proper care. Based on my experience, I do not feel they are fit for purpose when it comes to carrying out veterinary treatment. There seemed to be a lack of thoroughness, attention to detail, and genuine concern for the animal. Overall, this has been a deeply disappointing and stressful experience. I would not recommend this practice to anyone who truly wants attentive, competent care for their pet.

Used to be great but this place has completely fallen apart, what an absolute disgrace. It’s beyond shocking how fast it’s gone downhill. They’ll rinse your bank account without a second thought, charging ridiculous amounts for a service that’s nowhere near acceptable. The staff? Incredibly rude and unprofessional. Emily the so-called “vet” comes across like she couldn’t care less, with a constant miserable attitude and zero warmth or competence. It’s honestly baffling how someone like that is in that role. And the reception staff are just as bad, acting like they’re qualified to dish out medical advice when they clearly have no business doing so . Save yourself the frustration, the money, and the headache, avoid this place entirely, especially if you love your pet!

Our dog Oliver, was referred to this practice by our vets in Sheffield, for a mast cell tumour removal. The operational went well and everyone we came across was lovely. I didn't get the chance to highlight it at the time, but I just wanted to give a special shout out to the reception team (especially Johnathan), who handled the referral and our insurance claim quickly and efficiently, demonstrated some great problem solving skills, and explained exactly what we should expect on the day of the operation over the phone. You made the entire thing much easier for us and put our minds at ease during a stressful time.

Took my nana cat in gizmo. The lady vet. I cant remember her name. She was so lovely. Gizmo is a resuse cat and so nervous around people but she was brill with him and put my nana mind at rest. Animals are like your kids so understandly my nana was very worried about him
